Researchers from the project participated this morning in the 14th International Forum on Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering (IFM2E 2022) organized by the Polytechnic School of Jaén. The forum focused on the contribution of mechanical and mechatronic engineering to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The forum, held at the Las Lagunillas Campus in Jaén, brought together more than thirty participants, including researchers, companies, and attendees from countries such as France, Finland, Austria, Germany, Romania, Italy, and Spain. They analyzed and presented opportunities and challenges of engineering in the context of the selected SDGs. The forum included sessions dedicated to the following goals: 3 – Good Health and Well-being, 4 – Quality Education, 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, and 13 – Climate Action. Additionally, the event included networking activities and the search for synergies with participating companies from various sectors.
This international forum is part of the European project in which the University of Jaén is involved, called NextGEng (International Cooperation Framework for Next Generation Engineering Students). It aims to develop an international cooperative framework for innovative and experiential engineering education.
